On the Hoof: He is really thick; his upper body has not even come close to reaching its potential. His body structure is very similar to BYU signee Bronson Kaufusi.
Needs Improvement: Newberry has to stay low at the point of attack, because with his height it's easy to lose the leverage battle. He also needs to add some upper-body size and strength.
Most Impressive: He's an extremely versatile lineman who could be an offensive tackle, defensive tackle or defensive end. He is quick off the ball and knows how to use his hands to rid the grasp of offensive linemen. Newberry is a high-effort guy who gives his all and is extremely coachable.
Conclusion: Do not be surprised if he becomes one of the top left offensive tackles in this recruiting class. He does have the ability to play defense at the next level, but his frame is huge and he will only get bigger.
