On the Hoof: Possesses wide shoulders with long arms and a well-proportioned powerbase. He is built a bit like Texas freshman Reggie Wilson.
Needs Improvement: Dickson has the build of a hybrid DE/OLB so learning to play in space and cover the flats is something he may need to work on. He could improve his get-off when rushing the passer.
Most Impressive: Understands the concept of winning the leverage battle and using his hands to keep linemen off his body. He can disengage blockers and find the football against the run. Dickson also has soft hands and if the defensive end position does not work out, he could become an athletic tight end.
Conclusion: His versatility should lead to a lot of playing time at the next level. He can cover kicks and make open-field tackles. Look for him to become a multiple-year starter at the BCS level.
