Scouting Report on Alex Mitchell

On the Hoof: A massive upper body with thick, powerful arms is what stands out most about this warrior. His powerbase is thick while still athletic. His build is similar to 2009 Oregon State signee Michael Philipp.
Needs Improvement: His ideal playing weight is less than 300 pounds, so watching his weight and conditioning is imperative to his future effectiveness. Mitchell also needs to run his feet after contact until after the whistle blows. He also needs to make sure he does not lunge out or overextend himself while pass blocking.
Most Impressive: This is one powerful offensive lineman that has the ability to destroy defenders with his powerful punch. He already has the size and determination to play early in his career. Mitchell gets most of his power from a huge powerbase and natural hip and knee bend which allow him to uncoil like a striking cobra.
Conclusion: He could be the biggest sleeper in the country for interior offensive linemen. Look for his offer list to take off sometime this fall when college coaches come to actually see him play.
