Brad Keselowski got a big scare when his brakes went out during a test session Wednesday at Road Atlanta. Keselowski slammed into a retaining wall — not a SAFER barrier — at around 100 mph. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released.

The crash won't keep Keselowski away from racing this weekend in Pocono, but it did serve as a wakeup call.

"Guess I needed a reminder. Cot or not, this racing S&@t is still dangerous," he tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Here is a progression of photos from the track, the first three from Jimmie Johnson via Twitter:

"@keselowski, here are your marks going off in turn 1."

"@keselowski, here is the number you put on the wall!"

"And here is your car @keselowski... Glad you're alright man, you had us all worried."

Keselowski posted this photo of his ankle:

"X-rays on feet r good, Basic injury pics (of what I can show), Warning- Not for the squimish"
