Scouting Report on Javi Gonzalez

Javi is a talented offensive player. He has the ball handling skills and quickness to consistently create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. He also shoots it well from three. Quick of foot, he does need to get stronger to get it done on the defensive side of the ball on the high-major level.

Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."

With Denis Clemente and Luis Colon graduating last year and Freddy Asprilla ready to play for the Wildcats this year, the Tropics flavor to the Wildcats' roster remains strong.
