On the Possesses average height for a pro-style quarterback and is very lean in the upper body. His lower body is a little thicker and seems to be further along in physical development. Having seen both Nick and his father, Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana, at the Elite 11, it is safe to say that is who he most resembles physically in almost every way.
Needs Improvement: Hopefully his arm strength will improve as he physically matures, especially on deep balls. He will need to add some muscle mass in order to improve his ability to combat contact.
Most Impressive: He has excellent footwork and knows the importance of getting quick deep drops in the pocket. Montana also has uncanny accuracy and touch on his short-to-midrange passes.
Conclusion: Hopefully, he will get a chance to redshirt and learn his new offensive system before being thrown to the wolves. Montana has the intellect and field presence to become a competent field general and distribute the ball to the difference makers on his offense.
