Scouting Report on Brian Price

by Mike Farrell - 06/19/2006
Price is a bit undersized at defensive tackle but his technique and quickness make up for it. Price has a good burst off the ball, splits double teams well and uses his hands effectively to keep bigger men from locking him up. He’s deceptively strong and plays against top competition, raising his game as the opponents get better. He could end up moving outside in college to the strongside defensive end position and his versatility will come in handy. He’s a hustler who works his way to the quarterback and has good speed in pursuit. He gets into opponents quick enough to get them off balance and uses his strength to knock them aside. He needs to stay more square to the line of scrimmage consistently and develop more pass rush moves, but he fills the gap and plays bigger than his size against the run.
