Rank Name Pos Location Stars Ht Wt School
Damein AndersonDB
Hazlehurst, MSHazlehurst Senior

As is the case with many of the top athletes in Mississippi, Anderson starred as a quarterback in high school, but will move to defense as he steps to the next level. He joined teammate Jazzmen Guy on the 3A all-state team, but was named as a safety.

Darrius YoungWR
Shannon, MSShannon

Young is scheduled to visit State on Jan. 26 and at this point appears to be one of the last pieces of the Bulldog recruiting puzzle. He was named second team 4A all-state this fall.

Eric RichardsK
Vicksburg, MSWarren Central

The Bulldogs needed to add help to the kicking team and what better way than to add a double award winner? Richards was an all-state 5A first team punter and was also named to the 5A all-state second team as a kicker.

2 stars6'4"220Mississippi St.
O'Neal WilderWR
Carthage, MSCarthage

While he has yet to receive an offer, Wilder will be one of two receivers to visit State on Jan. 26. In only his second year of organized football, the track/basketball star was named first team 3A all-state as a senior.

2 stars6'5"200Mississippi St.
K.J. WrightLB
Olive Branch, MS

The latest addition to the Bulldog commit list, Wright emerged as one of the top defenders in the 5A ranks as a senior and was awarded first team all-state honors as an outside linebacker. He will start out at that same position for State, but will likely move to DE as he gains weight.

Antwon DixonDB
Terry, MSTerry

Although he projects as a safety at the next level, Dixon played numerous positions for Terry this year. He was named second team 4A all-state as a wide receiver.

3 stars6'1"200Mississippi St.
Colton JenkinsOL
Winona, MS

Jenkins will likely star on the offensive line at the next level, but in high school he contributed in several places. He earned first team 3A all-state honors for his play as a tight end.

3 stars6'6"280Mississippi St.
Quentin SaulsberryOL
Independence, MSIndependence

Saulsberry contributed heavily on both sides of the ball for Independence this year, but the high school coaches saw the same things the Mississippi State coaches saw and awarded him first team 3A all-state honors on the offensive side of the ball.

3 stars6'3"270Mississippi St.
Marcus GreenATH
DeKalb, MSKemper County

There was a change in the coaching staff at Kemper County going into last fall, and no one benefited more than Marcus Green. Although he ran the offense from the quarterback slot, his talents as a runner became more evident as the season progressed. So evident in fact that the Bulldogs switched from recruiting him as a safety to bringing him in on offense. He was awarded first team 2A honors for his play.

3 stars6'2"201Mississippi St.
Derek SherrodOL
Columbus, MSCaledonia

Sherrod will follow his brother to MSU and comes in as the state's top-rated offensive lineman. Even though Caledonia struggled this year, the coaches saw fit to name the Offense-Defense All-American participant first team 3A all-state.

4 stars6'6"298Mississippi St.
Robert ElliottRB
Okolona, MSOkolona

Elliott went into the season as the hands-down favorite in the 2A ranks, but after exceptional seasons by three other backs, he actually dropped to second team, or fourth overall, even though he had a solid senior campaign. He is still committed to Ole Miss, but is scheduled to visit State the last weekend in January.

4 stars6'0"191Mississippi St.
Jazzmen GuyDE
Hazlehurst, MSHazlehurst Senior

While Hazlehurst fell short in their quest to repeat as 3A champions, the coaches felt Guy was still up to form, as he was selected first-team 3A defensive end. Guy is rated as the top DL in the state and is one of two Bulldog commits to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Game on Jan. 4 on ESPNU.
