Scouting Report on Ravern Johnson

by Jerry Meyer - 01/09/2006
Although he has a hitch in his release, Johnson is a terrific shooter and scorer. He has the size and body control to score in a number of ways. An effective zone defender with his length and instincts, he does need to improve as a man to man defender. Gaining strength and tightening up his handle will be important for the next level.

Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
