update he will be suspended for the entire vandy game(BIGDEAL) I wonder what would have happended if he did gouge out someones eyes and they decide to retaliate like i would and puch his punk ass in the mouth. then little crier myer would be wanting a season suspension for the other guy. i hate the gators!!!!

let me get the logic of "no harm, no foul"--if you shoot at a cop and miss, well, they might ticket you???!!! spikes is a savage, period--the oregon back comparison reveals perfectly the "win at any cost, including your soul" and tt, the son of jesus, demonstrated his christian forgiveness-- what suspension would he have got if the idiot's eyeballs were rolling on the turf? two halves?!!!

what BS!!! This action has no place at any level of football. If an Oregon player gets the year suspended for hitting an opposing player in the mouth (after the game was over) then how do you justify this? Come on NCAA and FS get some RESPECT, do the right thing, throw Spikes off the team, suspend him for life.

What a weak showing by the SEC and UF staff. Half a game? Noone should care what Ealey said. He's an idiot for excusing this. I have a young son who loves football and that's not the way I want my son to act. What is it coming to when that kind of crap gets exposed and there are actually morons out there excusing it, including the players. No more respect for UF, even Tebow excused it. WWJD Tim?

I agree...this is mere carping at its very best; obvioulsy those who think this is the most disastrous event to ever ocurr on a football field is being disingenious at the very least; The Florida Gators beat teh crap out of us and what else can we do but carp about a penalty; remember this, he was caught, penalized and we scored 7 points from his discretion. What's the big deal all of a sudden. This kind of stuff and a lot worse goes on in every game. Everyone says Spikes poked him in the eye. Watch the video again.Do you see any reaction from Ealy that makes you think ANY pain was bing inficted !

spikes should be suspended for the year there is no place for this in college football if it happens all the time so they claim how come we don't see more of this there are cameras everywhere these days and it can't be a commen practice this kid is going to be a dr or lawer or something no need to difigure or handicap him for the rest of his life over a game urban meyr and the sec should be ashame
