Judging from offer lists of 2010 and 2011 Baylor recruits - Baylor has pulled even in recruiting with - ARMY, RICE, NTEXAS, SMU, TOLEDO, and TOWSON! Congrats! That is a big improvement because last year Baylor lost 4 recruits to the likes of RICE, ARMY, SMU and NTEXAS. So even though 10 of baylor's 2010 recruits and 3 outta 4 of the 2011 recruits have horrid offers, this is still better !!
Posted on Sunday March, 21 at 1:34 CDT Report Abuse2010 Baylor recruits (half the class) w/ no offers or very poor offers. Do U see Oklahoma, Iowa, or even Kansas on these lists? - QB JENKINS (none)//DT RUBEN (none)//OL SMITH (SFAustin, Rice)//LB SINGLETARY (Air Force, Navy)//LB HAGAR (Air Force)//CB ROBINSON (Smu)//LB RICHEY (Utep)//DB HOLL (NTex, Smu, Navy, Rice)//RB WILLIAMS (MTenn St, Nev, UtahSt, Memphis)//DB KENT (Toledo, Towson SoAlabama Fl
Posted on Sunday March, 21 at 1:18 CDT Report AbuseNearly the entire 2011 class (3 out of 4) thus far for Baylor have either horrid offers, or none at all. Which is typical actually, if you look at the Baylor 2010 class you will see that RIVALS gave most of Baylor's recruits 3 (or even 4 stars) when almost half the Baylor recruiting class had horrendous offers (i.e., 4 star CB KENT (offers: Towson St, Toledo, Fla Intl, Marshal, South Alabama)
Posted on Sunday March, 21 at 12:53 CDT Report AbuseTCU's (6) commits: OL HATTEN (offers: Florida St, Purdue, Tcu, Missouri, A&M, TTech, Houston, Tulsa, Kansas) LB GILDON (offers: Iowa, Kentucky, Tcu, Minnesota, TTech, Tulsa, Kansas, Baylor) CB GRIFFIN (offers: Texas, Ucla, Tcu, Kansas St, Iowa St, Northwestern, Baylor) WR WHITE (offers: A&M, Tcu, Oklahoma St, Tcu, Kansas, Missouri, Houston, TTech, Tulsa, Baylor). One TCU commit has no other offers
Posted on Sunday March, 21 at 12:46 CDT Report AbuseBaylor has 4 commits for 2011 thus far: OL COLBERT (offers: no offers from any college but Baylor) DT VALDEZ (offers: no offers from any college but Baylor) DT MASUMBUKO (offers: only Smu and Tulsa) RB WILLIAMS (offers: good offers but he is looking around for other colleges and is rumored to be wavering on his BU commit) Sorry - but those are pathetic offers and nobody else wants those guys.
Posted on Sunday March, 21 at 12:38 CDT Report AbuseAlso - seriously - why would a kid sign on to play at a school that loses 8 games a year, when he can go to a team that wins a CONF CHAMPIONSHP and also go to a BCS bowl game (neither of which Baylor will ever do), you can see why Baylor is not in his top choices. Which is why almost every commit Baylor has for 2011 have terrible offers (Smu and Tulsa only), or no offers other than Baylor.
Posted on Sunday March, 21 at 12:22 CDT Report AbuseScott - The new facilities at Baylor are not better than TCU or Oregon. In fact the Indoor practice facility at Baylor is about 5 yrs late and hurt Baylor in recruiting before they had it. TCU's facilities have been top notch for years and the 2011 SUPER BOWL teams chose TCU's facilities to practice in and the NFL stated" TCU's facilities are better than most NFL teams have".
Posted on Sunday March, 21 at 12:13 CDT Report AbuseScott Baylor over TCU in academics? Uh... NO!
Posted on Monday March, 15 at 8:47 CDT Report AbuseScott, Baylor is a nice school, but the academics are NOT superior. The worst students that I knew in my daughter's class were accepted at BU.
Posted on Thursday March, 11 at 1:3 CST Report AbuseSounds like a nice guy, but he preaches that academics are at the top of his list. Oregon is a good school, but why consider TCU and Texas Tech over Baylor? Baylor is a much much better academic school than the two of them, and is also a private-christian school just like Texas Christian. And Baylor just got new facilities a year ago for their athletics- something he praised TCU about.
