Charlie Weis isn't the one on the field executing the defense, which cost ND most of their games. GOSH! ALL THOSE MISSED TACKLES!!...at that level of football, you don't teach tacklng: you do it, or you don't. Period. The defense failed Coach Weis, and their team, not the other way around. Now you're gonna have good players leaving for the NFL, including next year's Heisman winner Golden Tate.

i think coach weiss did not play the best players. His coaching staff gave him nothing .Time will tell if nd made right move in changing the coach.

Eddie George and Robert Smith should just shut-up about Weis and ND. They are both Ohio State losers who want to pretend like Ohio State is something special. Ohio State also lost to USC and barely beat Navy (fluke last minute defensive TD). If ND were in the Big Ten they would be going to the Rose Bowl this year. You know Stanford, U Conn and Pitt would have all beaten-up on Ohio State.

and still alive and standing, charlie weis at notre dame, despite all of the assurances and guarantees from the media experts who know bupkis about dishonest officiating and about how notre dame makes football decisions. number of mentioned replacements for charlie at notre dame who have any interest in the notre dame job-zero. money has nothing to do with this process. integrity and honesty do.

The schools bring trouble upon themselves by overpricing and extending contracts. The person to be fired is the hiring party.

If I'm coach, pay me and I'll leave. There is plenty of money waiting for him.

I think that Eddie George should be more professional when talking about who gets fired in college football. He should not call Charlie Weis fat Or say look at how manny cheeseburgers i can buy with my buy out money.Maybe Eddie should just shut up untill he can act like a professional commentator. He is a jerk.

I believe coaches should be held accountable, but let's look at this...Coach Weiss will make 18 million when he gets fired. D1 college football is nothing but a farm system for the NFL. Nowadays, if you don't win, you get fired. How can one imagine the pressure at the D1 level. At least the coaches are millionaires for not being successful. Western KY just fired Coach Elson and he will get 500,000

I agree with coach. Alot of the failure for ND has been the players. We always look at the coach. They players gave up on Weiss this year. Instead of playing for the so called tradition of ND, they all thought they were better than everyone. No one is that good. And when are we going to start firing the AD's of the schools. They deserve the same as the coaches.
