On the Hoof: Very tall and long, athletic-looking lineman is a bit on the thin side, especially in the lower body at this time. He definitely has the frame to play at 290 pounds yet keep his overall athleticism.
Needs Improvement: He must add muscle mass and strength especially in the lower body. Johnstone can improve his consistency with pad level at the point of attack.
Most Impressive: His long arms keep pass rushers in check, forcing them to take a very wide rush. He is athletic and can get downfield to make blocks on linebackers and defensive backs. His ability to deep snap on field goals and extra points makes him a security blanket for a special teams coach.
Conclusion: This long, lanky lineman will surely redshirt as he adds weight. But don't be surprised if he grows into an all-conference performer.
