Tevin Jackson

On the Hoof: Jackson is lean yet not on the thin side. He is almost big enough to be considered a defensive end at the next level. Looks like a slightly smaller version of Winter Park (Fla.) Lake Howell prospect Christian Jones.
Needs Improvement: Jackson needs to improve his ability to drop in coverage and play the pass, something he does not get a chance to do a lot in his current defensive scheme. He also has a tendency to be a bit upright when taking on blockers. He could use a little more knee flex which will give him more punch and balance.
Most Impressive: Has the frame and athletic ability to become a monster-sized outside linebacker. Jackson is most deadly when he is blitzing the quarterback, but he does have excellent lateral movement and can run sideline to sideline. He also possesses very good instincts.
Conclusion: It is going to be hard to keep this aggressive, athletic linebacker off the field as a freshman. He definitely has what it takes to run down on special teams and wreak havoc. Jackson should become a multiple-year starter with all-conference potential.
