Scouting Report on Joey Shaw

Not overly athletic, Shaw has a good mind for the game and has very good length for a shooting guard. With a solid skill base, Shaw is most dangerous with his catch and shoot. His athleticism and playmaking ability should improve as he gets stronger.

Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."

The ability to both drive and shoot from the wing should enable Joey Shaw to have a pretty successful college career. Especially since he has good 6-foot-6 height and athleticism for a perimeter player. Shaw was on display recently on the IU recruit tour and earlier today we uploaded about a dozen clips of the IU freshman's best plays from three of those games.
