Scouting Report on Dillon Baxter

On the Hoof: He is physically well-put-together with a muscular upper body and thick legs. He is built like an every-down back that can take continual punishment.
Needs Improvement: Must improve top-end speed and explosiveness.
Most Impressive: For a big back, he runs excellent routes and has soft hands which will give him more opportunities in the open field. He's got the hands of an all-purpose back, could play receiver, but can also take the pounding that the traditional back goes through on a daily basis.
Conclusion: As a versatile back, Baxter should see some early playing time. He has the frame to take the punishment at the next level and the ability to be a threat as a receiver. The depth chart may be the only thing that keeps him off the field as a true freshman.

Barry Every is a Football Recruiting Analyst for Rivals.com. He has worked in the recruiting offices for Mark Richt at the University of Georgia, Bobby Bowden at Florida State University and Mack Brown at the University of North Carolina

Jefferson home from UMich, away to USC11/23/2009 USCFootball.com

Chula Vista (Calif.) four-star safety Tony Jefferson is taking the recruiting trail marked by his own footprints. While it would be inaccurate to say that Jefferson has come full circle with the recruiting process, the more things change for the Army All-American, the more things stay the same.
