Dietrich Riley

On the Hoof: Has a thick frame almost like a small outside linebacker, with long arms and wide shoulders. He looks an awful lot like a taller Dillon Baxter of San Diego Mission Bay.
Needs Improvement: Must improve his closing speed and reaction time when deciphering run/pass. Could improve flexibility in order to become more fluid and improve change of direction.
Most Impressive: He is always around the ball and is an excellent technical tackler. He knows how to use his body and long arms to outmuscle opponents for jump balls. Riley is also very strong for his size.
Conclusion: As a safety, he definitely has a chance to make an impact early on at special teams. Riley is not afraid of contact and may not have breakaway speed, but he does have the ability to make big plays in the secondary. He will most likely be a two- to three-year starter. He could end up as a running back but stiffness issues hamper his ability to excel at this position.
