Scouting Report on Andrew Norwell

How we scouted: Film footage, In-person visits, Game setting, Campby Barry Every - 08/17/2009
  • SpeedDivision I Player
  • SizeBlue Chip
  • StrengthBlue Chip
  • AgilityDivision I Player
  • Foot QuicknessDivision I Player
On the Hoof: Probably closer to 6 feet 5, 290 pounds, Norwell has long arms and the frame to add at least 20-25 more pounds. Norwell also just looks plain mean.
Needs Improvement: Improving the quickness of his pass set, and just getting more reps as a pass blocker. Norwell needs to work some on hip and knee flexibility.
Most Impressive: Does a nice job of keeping his feet moving after contact and using his long arms as battering rams to keep defenders at bay. Norwell is also a very nasty player and loves nothing better than to drive defenders to the ground and give them a few extra shots while they are down.
Conclusion: Almost a guarantee to redshirt, giving him time to fill out and learn the left tackle position. He probably will not have a major impact until his second or third season but still expect him to develop into an NFL-caliber offensive lineman.
