Scouting Report on Ivan McCartney

How we scouted: Film footage, In-person visits, Game setting, Campby Barry Every - 08/25/2009

  • AgilityBlue Chip
  • Ball SkillsBlue Chip
On the Hoof: Has excellent height with long arms and legs. He is a bit on the thin side, but does have the potential to add another 20 pounds. He is built like his cousin, Chad Ochocinco.
Needs Improvement: Needs to add more strength, which will help against man coverage. McCartney could improve his top-end speed just a tad.
Most Impressive: There are not many receivers that are his size that can run fluid and precise routes like he does. He also has excellent hands, which he uses to snatch the ball out of the air. McCartney knows how to use his size and length to shield defenders from the ball.
Conclusion: Has a serious chance to make a difference as a freshman receiver. McCartney may not be the No. 1 guy right away, but he does have the potential to become a No. 1 receiver at a BCS-level school.
