Lykendra Johnson scored 21 points and Aisha Jefferson added 12 to lead No. 21 Michigan State to a 74-51 win over Western Michigan on Sunday. Michigan State's 6-foot-9 center Allyssa DeHaan added seven points, 11 rebounds and five blocks for the Spartans (2-2). Johnson, who only missed one of her nine shots, had 16 points in the first half.

Thanks to Ashley Barlow, Notre Dame withstood a tough test on the road. Barlow scored 18 points and hit a tiebreaking free throw with 10 seconds left, lifting the fifth-ranked Fighting Irish to a 68-67 victory over No. 21 Michigan State on Thursday night. Kendel Ross and Dayton are expecting big things this year. They sure kicked off their season in style Friday night. Ross scored 14 points, including four free throws in the final 15.8 seconds, to help the Flyers upset No. 10 Michigan State 77-74 in the season opener for both teams.
