NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Caroline Williams scored 17 points to lead No. 15
Vanderbilt to a 91-51 victory over Alabama on Sunday.
Williams made three 3-pointers in the first half as the Commodores raced to
a 15-0 lead. Eleven players broke into the scoring column for Vanderbilt (20-4,
6-3 Southeastern Conference), which posted its eighth consecutive season with at
least 20 victories.
Alabama played without leading scorer Navonda Moore, who was out with an
injury, and starting point guard Alyson Butler, sidelined with an illness.
The Commodores made their first seven shots and shot 64.7 percent from the
field in the first half. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide committed nine turnovers in
the first 7:30.
Vanderbilt led by 20 points four times in the first half and pushed the
margin to 40 in the closing minute. The Commodores shot 84.0 percent in the
second half and 64.7 overall.
Kate Mastin led Alabama (10-14, 0-9) with 21 points.
