Leading 34-24 to start the second half, the Scarlet Knights came out in a full-court press they maintained for most of the rest of the game. They held Virginia Tech to 19 second-half points.

A 3-pointer by McCullough gave Rutgers a 58-37 lead with 7:44 left, and her driving layup with 4:45 remaining gave Rutgers its biggest lead at 62-37.
