EVANSTON, Ill. (AP)—Beth Marshall scored 14 points to help Northwestern beat No. 15 DePaul 59-55 on Tuesday night, ending a 10-year losing streak to the Blue Demons.

DePaul also lost leading scorer Deirdre Naughton to a knee injury midway through the first half. She was averaging 17.5 points.

Even without Naughton, the Blue Demons (4-1) rallied from a late 10-point deficit and led 55-49 following a steal and layup from freshman Anna Martin. But the Wildcats scored the game’s final 10 points, including five from Marshall to earn the victory.

The loss snapped DePaul’s 36-game winning streak against Illinois rivals, a run dating back to 2002.

Kristin Cartwright added 10 points for Northwestern (4-0) which is off to its best start since 1995-96.

Felicia Chester topped DePaul with 14 points, Jennifer Juergens had 11 and Martin added 10.
