LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP)—Sade Morris scored a a career-high 26 points and became the 21st player in school history to eclipse 1,000 points, lifting No. 19 Kansas to a 77-66 win over Michigan on Sunday.
Aishah Sutherland had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Danielle McCray added 11 points and nine rebounds for for Kansas, which overcame 17 turnovers to start 3-0 for the third straight season under coach Bonnie Henrickson. Freshman Angel Goodrich chipped in seven assists and Morris had five.
Veronica Hicks had 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals for Michigan (3-1). Freshman Dayeesha Hollins added 16 points for the Wolverines, who shot 7 of 15 from 3-point range to stay close before Kansas pulled away down the stretch.
