AUSTIN, Texas (AP)—Bernice Mosby had 17 of her 23 points in the second half and 12 rebounds to help No. 13 Baylor defeat No. 24 Texas 63-59 on Wednesday night.
Latara Darrett finished with 18 points and Jhasmin Player grabbed seven rebounds to help Baylor (17-3, 4-2 Big 12) keep Longhorns coach Jody Conradt four wins shy of her 900th victory.
Erneisha Bailey led Texas (14-6, 3-3) with 16 points, and Tiffany Jackson, who battled Mosby most of the game, finished with eight points.
Baylor held a four-point lead with less than a minute to play and sealed the game at the free-throw line by missing only one foul shot down the stretch.
Darrett matched her season average during the first 20 minutes with eight points to help Baylor keep pace. Texas shot 7 of 14 during the final 7:00 of the first half and withstood a 23-15 rebounding advantage from Baylor to take a 29-25 halftime lead.
