DURHAM, N.C. (AP)—Bridgette Mitchell and Keturah Jackson scored 12 points apiece, and No. 8 Duke routed No. 18 North Carolina 79-51 on Monday night to bounce back from its first Atlantic Coast Conference loss.

Krystal Thomas had 11 points for the first-place Blue Devils (19-4, 7-1). They never trailed and dominated nearly every stat category—their 52-28 rebounding advantage included a 35-12 edge in the second half—in avoiding its first ACC losing streak in a decade.

She’la White and Laura Broomfield had 10 points each to lead the slumping Tar Heels (16-6, 4-4). They had no shortage of reasons why they lost their third straight ACC game for the first time since 2001-02.

They had 25 turnovers, shot 24 percent in the second half and managed just two field goals over the late 10-minute stretch in which it got out of hand.

No. 5 Tennessee 69, Vanderbilt 60

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Kelley Cain scored a career-high 19 points, and Tennessee rallied and beat Vanderbilt for the Lady Vols’ fifth straight victory.

The Lady Vols (21-2, 9-1 Southeastern Conference) looked like they might lose on consecutive visits to Memorial Gym for the first time since the 1985 and 1987 seasons, trailing by as much as eight in the first half and seven with 8:41 left. But Tennessee used its superior size to pound the Commodores inside and beat their instate rival for the 22nd time on their own floor.

Vanderbilt (17-7, 6-5) snapped a three-game winning streak.

Angie Bjorklund, Alyssia Brewer and Glory Johnson all finished with 10 points for Tennessee.

Merideth Marsh led Vanderbilt wtih 19 points. Jence Rhoads added 15, and Lauren Lueders 12.

No. 21 Georgia Tech 68, Clemson 53

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP)—Brigitte Ardossi had 17 points and 13 rebounds and Georgia Tech reached 20 wins for the fourth straight year with a victory over Clemson.

The Yellow Jackets (20-5, 6-3 ACC) had only two 20-win seasons in their history before MaChelle Joseph became coach before the 2003-04. Now, they’re just three away from the program record for most victories in a season set in 1978.

Ardossi, the 6-foot-2 senior from Australia, helped Georgia Tech take control of this one early with eight points during a 20-8 first-half run that put it ahead 27-16.

Clemson (11-14, 2-7) could not rally and lost its 44th straight against ranked opponents, a streak that dates to Nov. 2003.

Lele Hardy led the Tigers with 13 points, all in the second half.
