Wake Forest Team Report Nov 4, 2009

  Ryan McManus has waited for this chance for his entire career. He once was a scout team member of the Wake Forest defense.

  This week, he might be the team's starting quarterback if Riley Skinner is unable to play after sustaining a mild concussion in the fourth quarter against Miami.

  McManus, despite his presence in the program for a fifth year, is largely inexperienced. He completed 5-of-9 passes in emergency duty against Miami.

  Last year, he was a third-string quarterback. Then Brett Hodges graduated and chose to use his final season of eligibility at Central Florida, which elevated McManus for a shot at becoming the backup quarterback.
