The 2009 Sugar Bowl victory is the gift that keeps on giving for the Utah Utes.
Midnight-hour commitments from Rivals.com four-star offensive lineman John Cullen, four-star linebacker V.J. Fehoko and three-star athlete Lucky Radley helped vault the Utes to the top of the Mountain West Conference recruiting rankings.
Rivals rated Utah No. 32 nationally. Utes coach Kyle Whittingham credited the Sugar Bowl win over Alabama a year ago as the catalyst for the 2010 success in recruiting.
"Playing on a national platform gives you good exposure and people are starting to recognize that," he told the Salt Lake Tribune. "We aren't going to win all those battles, obviously, but to get a guy like John Cullen says a lot about where we are as a program." The Utes did lose ...More |
