Second-year UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel is taking some advice from the greatest Bruins coach of them all.
"I read a little bit of John Wooden over the last day or so, read again that while winning is important, it's not how you judge yourself," Neuheisel said Monday. "It's important that our players, especially the really young ones in the program, believe that if we're continuing to work hard, the wins will come."
At 0-5 in the Pac-10, Neuheisel can't do much right now other than continue to hammer home that message of working hard. The payoff could come in the next three weeks.
Ucla, which has lost five in a row after racing to a 3-0 start through non-conference play, gets a break in the schedule in the early part of November. ...More |
