A losing season apparently didn't dent Texas Tech's recruiting.

Coming off a 5-7 year that ended their streak of bowl-eligible seasons at 19, the Red Raiders are earning kudos for their 2012 class of recruits.

Scout.com tabbed the Raiders' class the 24th best in the country and behind only Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the Big 12. Rivals.com puts the group at No. 26 behind Texas and Oklahoma in the conference.

"We just signed 17 new student-athletes for the coming year along with the nine we had admitted at the semester," coach Tommy Tuberville said. "It was a fun year of recruiting coming off pretty much a disastrous year in terms of wins and losses."
