Following a 6-6 finish that pushed Texas A&M back into the postseason with an Independence Bowl berth against Georgia, quarterback Jerrod Johnson is starting to be mentioned as a possibility for college football's top individual prize.

It's probably best to hold off Heisman talk for 2010 until everyone sees how Johnson performs in the bowl game. But his improvement throughout the season was remarkable, and his last outing, against undefeated Texas, was a dazzling eye-opener.

Johnson completed 26 of 33 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns against a defense that had been virtually impenetrable in conference play while rising to No. 2 nationally.
