At the Big 12's spring conference call, Texas coach Mack Brown indicated that he felt the Longhorns were back in a position where the team expected to win every game. In other words, Texas was back at the minimum level of expectations for the hometown fans.
And why not? The Longhorns rebounded from a losing 2010 to an 8-5 record and a Holiday Bowl win in 2011. Though it couldn't find its footing against top teams, getting blasted by Oklahoma, Baylor and Oklahoma State while losing closer games against Missouri and Kansas State, it was one of the youngest teams in the country and relied more than usual on true freshmen in the two deep.
Expect that to continue in 2012, as the strong incoming recruiting class is poised to take its place on the depth chart. ...More |
