In what constitutes a college football miracle, Temple has gone from 0-11 in 2005 to Big East member in 2012.
That's right, despite roadblocks from Villanova and a more expensive-than-expected buyout from the MAC ($6 million), Temple (9-4 in 2011) is back in the Big East for football in 2012 and in all sports in 2013.
Yep, Temple was a Big East member in football only from 1991 to 2004, but was forced out because the program was one of the worst in major college football. The Owls failed to meet minimum requirements for membership, most notably in attendance, facilities and fielding a competitive team.
Eight years later, Temple is a competitive program again and it was wise for the Big East to add them again. ...More |
