TCU, which is one victory away Saturday from a BCS postseason berth, has just six senior starters and only 13 seniors on the roster.

So while big things were expected of this year's team—the Horned Frogs were picked to win the Mountain West Conference and were ranked No. 17 in the AP and USA Today coaches preseason polls—the lack of senior leadership led to cautious optimism.

"This is the year we have really been able to carry our emotions, and that's how you win championships and stay undefeated," coach Gary Patterson said.

Patterson said he thinks the nation has taken a liking to his team because they haven't been crying about their place in the BCS pecking order.

TCU coach Gary Patterson has no plans to lobby for votes and a spot in the national championship game if his team ends the regular season undefeated.
