<p>Beating Palmetto State rival Clemson on Saturday would be a good start. But it won't be easy.</p>
<p>South Carolina (6-5) heads into Saturday's regular-season finale having lost three straight. The Gamecocks have beaten Clemson only twice in the last 10 meetings.</p>
<p>This year could be especially tough, with Clemson playing its best football of the year while the Gamecocks are in what's become an all-too familiar tradition&mdash;a November nose dive.
