   Before his team goes out and tries to beat the Hurricanes, USF coach Jim Leavitt is giving glowing tributes to the Miami program.

   "They've won more national championships than anyone else in Florida," Leavitt said in a report in the Tampa Tribune, referring to Miami's five titles. "When I was in high school, they weren't real good, but then they built into a powerhouse.

   "As I followed them, I was always impressed with them, and now they're back to almost where they were."

   The Bulls and Hurricanes face very similar situations as they head into their second meeting ever.

B.J. Daniels rebounded from the worst game of his young career to throw for 304 yards and run for 141 more in South Florida 's 34-22 victory over struggling Louisville on Saturday. Daniels, shut down in a 31-0 loss to Rutgers last week, threw for one touchdown and ran for two others while leading four scoring drives of at least 75 yards.
