The desire to make up for the failure to make a bowl in 2011 for the first time since 2004 motivated South Florida through spring practice, coach Skip Holtz said.
Holtz noted how he saw more fire, energy, and determination as the Bulls, who finished 5-7 after starting off 4-0, went through their workouts.
The seniors have rallied and taken the approach "that's not how we're going to do it," Holtz said. "That's not how we're going out."
The Bulls will have more experience as Holtz moves into his third season at the Tampa school. Of the 44-man two-deep coming out of spring, 29 players were seniors and juniors, and 18 players have starting experience.
