Louisville doesn't have a great defensive front, but not many thought that Syracuse could manhandle the Scarlet Knights either. The Cardinals also struggle to score and to stop its opponents in key spots, which explains why Steve Kragthorpe's crew now shares last place with the Orange.

Greg Paulus' second senior day turned out to be maybe the most memorable of his brief college football career. Paulus had 142 yards passing and Syracuse earned its first conference victory of the season with a 31-13 upset of No. 25 Rutgers on Saturday. "To go out and win like this is something that we are all going to remember and be very proud of the effort we put forth," said Paulus,...

Schiano has produced another good Rutgers defense (AP)

Long before he was a bowl-bound coach, Greg Schiano faced a make-or-break season in 2005. He understood that he needed to produce a winning record after posting four consecutive losing campaigns. That's when Schiano dismissed his defensive coordinator and took charge of the unit himself. He changed the defense from a basic 4-3 alignment to the zone-blitzing, Cover 2 scheme.

After listening to No. 23 South Florida talk about revenge all week, Rutgers sent its message on the field.
