A long time ago, LSU coach Les Miles coached in the Big Ten. His Capital One Bowl counterpart, Penn State's Joe Paterno, has simply been coaching for a long time.
Two of the game's most successful coaches will lead very similar squads against each other on Jan. 1 in Orlando, Fla.
Both teams are built to win with defense. The Nittany Lions rank fourth in the nation in scoring defense (11.8 points per game); the Tigers are 12th, having allowed only 16 points per game. Those defenses will look to apply heavy doses of pressure on the quarterbacks, Penn State veteran Daryll Clark and LSU sophomore Jordan Jefferson.
