A Baylor team adjusting to life without Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III will play its first two Big 12 games next season against league newcomers West Virginia and TCU. With the success Oklahoma State enjoyed using the pass-catch combination of Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon, there will be little deviation in the system adopted by coach Mike Gundy.
That would be silly with the Cowboys coming off their first Bowl Championship Series appearance, a win in the Fiesta Bowl against Stanford, which capped a 12-1 season after the Cowboys claimed the Big 12 championship.
"We have our theory on the way that the game's going on offense for us, and how it gives us the best chance to move the ball and score points," Gundy said. "It's skill players who can touch the ball and make people miss and do things that are unconventional."
To that end, Oklahoma State loaded up on such prospects, signing seven wide receivers. ...More |
