The Urbanization of Ohio State football shifted into overdrive during spring football as new head coach Urban Meyer started sculpting the Buckeyes into the kind of football team he thinks they need to be.
It was good-bye power running game, hello spread offense. Sayonara to the heavy and plodding defensive line and hello to the SEC-style speed and terror approach.
There were plenty of clumsy moments as Meyer put his stamp on things, but after a month of work the consensus is that Ohio State is going to emerge in the 2012 season as a much improved and drastically different squad.
Meyer used the spring to introduce dynamic sophomore QB Braxton Miller to the offense that should allow Miller to highlight all of his skills and athleticism. ...More |
