Cam Thomas and Kendric Burney each had defensive touchdowns on Saturday as North Carolina scored three times in a span of 2 minutes, 19 seconds to open a 21-point lead and hold on to beat Boston College 31-13. The defense continues to come up big for the Tar Heels in their late-season surge.

Cornerback Kendic Burney scored on an interception return for the second consecutive week two plays after defensive tackle Cam Thomas scored on a 20-yard fumble return to jump-start the Tar Heels in their 31-13 victory over Boston College.

The two defensive scores followed a 70-yard scoring drive that gave the Heels a 21-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game. The Heels then held the Eagles to two field goals on the next two series, which turned out to be a key when Boston College got its only touchdown late in the first half.

Instead of 21-17 or even 21-21 after that touchdown, the Heels were up 21-13 at the half. ...More
