Oh, if only the college football season were a mere six games and ended on Oct. 10.

It was then that first year New Mexico State head coach DeWayne Walker was feeling pretty good about things in Aggieland with a surprising 3-3 record during a season in which some predicted the team could be one of the worst FBS programs in the nation.

After that Oct. 10 win over Utah State, Walker's Aggies have not only failed to progress, the team's offense has taken huge steps backwards.

Heading into this week's bye (the team doesn't play again until a Nov. 14 road game at Hawaii), the Aggies have not scored an offensive touchdown since midway through the third quarter of the Utah State game, a stretch of three-plus games that has included a 45-7 road loss to Louisiana Tech, a ...More
