New QB leads No. 17 Utah over New Mexico 45-14

Utah freshman Jordan Wynn still hasn't played a whole game. Wynn didn't have to finish his first start, passing for 297 yards and two touchdowns before resting in the fourth quarter as the 17th-ranked Utes beat winless New Mexico 45-14 Saturday night. Wynn completed 18 of 28 passes while leading Utah to 557 yards of offense and the Utes' highest point total in nearly a year. ...More

New Mexico Team Report Nov 4, 2009

Since game five of the 2007 season, there hasn't really been a good time to play Utah. New Mexico, however, might play the Utes at the best time possible.

The Lobos (0-8, 0-4 Mountain West Conference) really have nothing to lose Saturday when they travel to Salt Lake City to face 17th-ranked Utah (7-1, 4-0). Add to that the fact that Utah's following game is at home against conference co-leader TCU and maybe—just maybe—the Utes will be caught looking ahead.

"When you get the program to where they have their program, they have depth all over the place," New Mexico coach Mike Locksley said. "There's never a good time to play Utah—at least until we get ourselves in our program to that level."
