Nebraska Team Report Apr 26, 2012
For the first time since 1949, Nebraska did not have a spring football game.
The reason: Jim Cantore was in town.
While the Weather Channel star didn't cause the cancellation of the Red-White game, his reason for being in Lincoln did.
Bad weather, and lots of it.
So, after waiting out fog, rain, hail, thunder and lightning—and with high probability of tornadoes—Nebraska's spring game was called off shortly after the scheduled 1 p.m. kickoff on April 14.
Rescheduling the game was briefly considered, but coach Bo Pelini said there were too many logistical issues. So Nebraska never had its 15th and final spring practice. Pelini said one lost practice won't make or break the team, but also expressed disappointment the game couldn't be ...More |
