This year's Egg Bowl matchup between No. 20 Mississippi and Mississippi State is a tough one for middle linebackers. Ole Miss features Dexter McCluster, who's as hard to tackle as smoke. Then there's Mississippi State's Anthony Dixon, who plays a lot like a runaway dump truck in a bad mood.

November has been good to Houston Nutt while he's been in Oxford.

The Rebels used a late-season winning streak last year to finish 9-4 in a season that included a Cotton Bowl win over Texas Tech. This year, the Rebels are 2-0 in November, winning against Tennessee and LSU at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Nutt and the Rebels will put that perfect November stretch on the line Saturday in the season's big rivalry game—the Egg Bowl, which pits Ole Miss against Mississippi State.

Though the Bulldogs are just 4-7, they have new life in Dan Mullen's first year as their head coach and are motivated by last year's 45-0 thumping that the Rebels gave them in Oxford.

Though the Rebels are bowl eligible for the second straight year, the game means plenty.

November is Houston Nutt's favorite month. The Mississippi coach loves this time of year so much, he made up a sign and put it on the wall in the Rebels' training facility so everyone knows just how special it is: "They Remember in November." "What that sign says is true," Nutt said.

About a dozen hooded Ku Klux Klan members rallied briefly at the University of Mississippi before Saturday's football game with No. 10 LSU. The members of the Mississippi White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan spent about 10 minutes waving flags, displaying Nazi-style salutes and occasionally gesturing at a group of about 250 hecklers that included young children.

Dexter McCluster says being 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds has its advantages on the football field. No Tennessee defender could argue with the Mississippi standout Saturday. McCluster rushed for 282 yards and finished with 324 all-purpose yards, setting two Mississippi records, and the Rebels ran over the Volunteers 42-17.
