Coming off consecutive 11-win seasons that included a Big Ten co championship, the first Big Ten Legends Division title and an Outback Bowl win over Georgia, Michigan State has many of the pieces required to make another run at the school's first Rose Bowl since 1988.
Most of the Big Ten's No. 1 defense is back. Both excellent specialists are back. A brutal 2011 schedule looks a bit easier in 2012 with most of the top opponents at home. Four starters are back on an offensive line that Mark Dantonio calls the strongest of his six-year tenure, and they'll be blocking for standout junior RB Le'Veon Bell.
There's just one question, and it's a big one: Can the Spartans pass the ball?
