Jonathan Crompton threw for a career-high 331 yards and five touchdowns and ran for another as Tennessee routed Memphis 56-28 on Saturday night. Crompton surpassed his career high of 310 yards with a 10-yard pass to Denarius Moore on Tennessee's first drive of the second half. If Memphis can somehow end its 0-11 hex in Knoxville on Saturday, odds are good that Duke Calhoun had a lot to do with it.

The senior receiver leads the Tigers (2-5, 1-3 C-USA) into Saturday's final non-conference game of the season at Tennessee (4-4, 2-3 SEC). He has 50 catches for 764 yards through eight games this season and is the school's career leader in both categories with 194 receptions and 2,822 yards.

"Duke is a great example of a guy who was going to have a great year no matter what," head coach Tommy West told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "He has had a great focus about him and has played that way. He's a different player than he has ever been. He has played through injuries.

Dominique Lindsay ran for 139 yards for the Pirates (5-3, 4-1 Conference USA), who warmed up for a game against No. 14 Virginia Tech by rolling up nearly 500 yards on one of the country's worst defenses.
