The finish of LSU's game against Ole Miss remains a much hotter topic than the upcoming game against Arkansas, so coach Les Miles spent much of his weekly press conference dissecting the closing minutes of the 25-23 loss to the Rebels.

He talked about the call on the try for a two-point conversion after the last touchdown—a pass attempt, not a run—from a yard-and-a-half out following a pass interference penalty against Ole Miss. Miles said he felt his receiver had an advantage over the Ole Miss defender.

He defended the play calls after the Tigers had moved to the Rebels' 32-yard line after recovering an onside kick—an incompletion, a 9-yard loss on a sack, and a 7-yard loss on a completed screen pass.

Les Miles said the past two days have been difficult for him and his football team. The LSU coach said he understands the criticism and accepts the blame for a series of gaffes that resulted in the 17th-ranked Tigers' 25-23 loss at Ole Miss. "For 48 hours, I've gone through the pain of this," Miles said Monday.

LSU coach Les Miles says Jordan Jefferson is expected to practice all week and the Tigers are hopeful the quarterback will be able to play at Mississippi after missing the last game with a sprained right ankle.
