Iowa's string of bad luck at running back continued this spring when promising sophomore Jordan Canzeri suffered a serious knee injury that required surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament.
Canzeri will be sidelined at least six months and Iowa will need to pinpoint a lead back in fall camp from a group of unproven sophomores Damon Bullock and De'Andre Johnson and true freshmen Greg Garmon and Barkley Hill.
Iowa has a string of injuries and/or departures at running back over the past few seasons and seemed to have solved the issue when Marcus Coker emerged as a star sophomore last season.
